White House spokesman Jen Psaki said the US and NATO have no aggressive goals against Russia. RIA Novosti reports her words.
“NATO has no aggressive goals against Russia, it is a defensive alliance,” explained Psaki. When asked to comment on the statements of the Russian authorities that NATO poses a threat to regional security, she noted that “Russian President Vladimir Putin has his own audience, and these are not Americans.”
In October, Vladimir Putin said the threat posed by Ukraine's active ties with NATO was significant. Although Kiev's membership in the alliance may never take place, the organization's active development of Ukrainian territory is a matter of concern, he noted.
