Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the EU Vladimir Chizhov accused Western countries of being forced to support the hysteria around Ukraine, expecting an alleged “invasion” of Russia, due to the fact that they have no alternatives. “I think that they have no other choice, because otherwise all this military hysteria that has been raging over the past few weeks will turn out to be fake,” the diplomat said.
Earlier, the head of the Spanish Ministry of Defense, Margarita Robles, after a meeting with her colleagues in NATO, said that the alliance does not see an escalation of the situation in Ukraine from Russia, and the expected “invasion” of Ukraine has not yet occurred. However, she stressed that such a threat persists, and the NATO countries are still confident that the attack will take place.
