The official website of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was unavailable today. The media write that it is a DDoS attack.
At the time of publication of the news, mil.ru is not loading. Information about the TASS attack was confirmed by a source in the security forces.
“Specialists of the military department are repelling a DDoS attack on the official website of the Ministry of Defense,” he said.
The TASS news agency recalled that the last major attacks on Russian resources happened during a direct line with President Vladimir Putin. Then the attackers attacked the systems with the help of which the direct line was organized.
In a DDoS attack, too many requests are sent to a network resource. It cannot process them all at the same time, either because of a limitation on their number, or because of a limited bandwidth of the channel, so it turns out to be unavailable.
