The Russian combat robot “Marker” traveled 100 kilometers over rough terrain during the tests. It took him over five hours.
As Naked Science clarifies, the robot moved completely autonomously. This is a wheeled vehicle, although other robots, including a tracked one, participated in the experiments. As a result, the car went 40 kilometers across the field and another 60 kilometers along dirt and paved roads.
In fact, the operator only indicated the start and end point of movement for the robotic platform. Several intermediate points have also been identified. Marker moved between them independently using neural networks and sensors. The robot also created a three-dimensional passability map – it allowed choosing the best path.
