The match between the national teams of the USA and Switzerland at the Ice Hockey World Youth Championship has been canceled. This was reported on the official website of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF).
The US team has identified two cases of coronavirus infection. The hockey players were quarantined and the meeting was canceled.
In accordance with the IIHF rules, the Americans were awarded a technical defeat. As a result of the game, the victory of Switzerland with the score 1: 0 will be fixed.
The Russian national team plays in the same group with the USA and Switzerland. The match against the Americans is scheduled for the night of January 1. The Russians played with the Swiss on December 28. Domestic hockey players beat their rivals with a score of 4: 2.
