The White House expects a separate bill from the House of Representatives to maintain aid to Ukraine.
On Saturday, September 30, the US House of Representatives voted in favor of a bill on temporary spending by the federal government for 45 days, which does not include assistance to Ukraine. This happened several hours before a possible shutdown of US government agencies – the so-called “shutdown”.

The project proposed by the Republicans provides for assistance in natural disasters, but not additional funding for Ukraine or border security.
The vote for this compromise solution was preceded by several weeks of debate among Republicans in the House of Representatives.
In the end, 335 members of the House of Representatives voted for such a funding project, against – 91.
If this had not been done and the government had been suspended, then 3.5 million federal workers in the United States would have gone without pay, and millions of socially vulnerable people would have lost assistance.

The administration of President Joe Biden expects Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy to preserve aid to Ukraine by introducing a separate bill.
