US Secret Service officials have criticized President Donald Trump's decision to leave the hospital for a short trip to see supporters, who is being treated for coronavirus, CNN reported.
After Trump's unexpected appearance, agents expressed concern about “a complete disregard for their health in the face of a deadly and very dangerous pandemic.” They drew attention to the fact that due to the reluctance of the American leader to refuse to hold pre-election rallies, many intelligence officers contracted the coronavirus, and their colleagues had to work longer than the prescribed time to ensure the safety of the head of state.
“It shouldn't be like that,” said one of the secret agents working to protect the president and his family. The channel's interlocutor admitted that he was disappointed with Trump's attitude towards those who ensure his safety, and would not like to be among those who were forced to accompany him during an unplanned exit from the hospital. “We are not disposable,” he added.
The president's act drew criticism from a former employee of the US Secret Service. He noted that his colleagues can refuse to comply with the demands of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces only if he himself is in danger. If their lives are under attack, they have no opportunity to defend themselves.
Another employee of the department expressed the opinion that the incident that occurred did not allow us to say that the president had deliberately risked the lives of his bodyguards. He added that, despite Trump's eccentricity, the agents are doing their job.

A doctor at the hospital where Trump is being treated said the sudden trip was insane. He stressed that the head of state risked other people's lives.
