In one of the private schools in New York, they stopped naming Newton's laws by the name of their creator because of the color of his skin. This is how the school is fighting racism and white supremacy, writes City Journal.
“We no longer call them Newton's laws. We call them the three fundamental laws of physics. They (school administration – Lenta.ru note ) say that we need to “decentralize whiteness,” said one of the high school students in an interview with the publication. According to him, in this way they want to teach children the idea that there is something more in physics than Newton.
Earlier it was reported that the Oregon authorities found racism in the school math curriculum. For example, the state's Department of Education said that the idea of white supremacy manifests itself in a focus on finding the right answer. Instead of the classical subject, it was proposed to introduce “ethnomathematics”.
