RF may deploy North Korean soldiers in Kursk.
North Korea has sent about 10,000 troops to Russia for training and participation in the war in Ukraine. The military could join the fighting within the next few weeks.
This was stated by Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh, as reported by the Voice of America.
According to the United States, some of the DPRK troops whose deployment to Russia was confirmed last week have already been redeployed closer to Ukraine.
“We are increasingly concerned that Russia intends to use these soldiers in combat or to support combat operations against Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region of Russia, near the border with Ukraine,” Singh emphasized.
Also, according to her, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned that if North Korean soldiers do join the war in Ukraine, they will be considered warring party, and therefore will be legitimate military targets.
Recall that US President Joe Biden responded to information about sending North Korean soldiers to Russia. He called such actions “dangerous”.
