White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki at a briefing with reporters predicted the emergence of problems for China in the event of continued destabilization of the situation in Europe. According to her, the current events harm the interests of Beijing, RIA Novosti reports.
She noted that the United States maintains high-level contacts with China. Psaki also added that the countries are discussing the current international agenda and emerging challenges, in particular the current situation around Ukraine.
“We have conveyed to China that the destabilizing conflict in Europe will harm China’s interests around the world — and the PRC should understand this,” she said.
Earlier, Russia and China in a joint statement called on the United States to stop the escalation of global tensions and abandon plans to deploy missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region (APR). The heads of both countries believe that such measures, coupled with the denunciation of international treaties on the limitation of offensive missile weapons, have a negative impact on international security.
