In the USA Naval Special Operations Command is testing “robot dogs” with artificial intelligence armed with rifles.

The War Zone writes about this .

The robots were tested for four years. In particular, the Vision 60 Ground Vehicle (Q-UGV) is an “all-weather ground drone” from Ghost Robotics that actually resembles a dog in size and silhouette. At the same time, the US military has now begun assessing the possibilities of adding offensive capabilities to this vehicle.

“The US Navy Special Warfare unit currently has two work dogs equipped with the Onyx Industries SENTRY remote weapon system – one with a 7.62x39mm rifle and the other with a rifle Creedmoor caliber 6.5 mm, said Eric Schell, business development manager of Onyx Industries “ – the message says.

The US Department of Defense said that the Q-UGV robot is being tested by them “as one of many pieces of technology in the evaluation of ground robotics.”

“The robot with a rifle is not currently in service with their units, and the weapon is only one of the payload options for this platform”, – the message says.

Let us add that the Ukrainian military, with a ground kamikaze robot Ratel S, blew up a bridge in the village of Ivanovskoye, Donetsk region, which the occupiers used for logistics.
