The United States has decided to find the source of COVID-19: Washington calls for an international investigation into the source of the spread of the coronavirus. This was stated by the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki during a briefing, reports “Interfax”.
“We need to get to the root of the early days of the pandemic in China, and we express our support for an international investigation, which we believe should be complete and clear,” Psaki said.
Earlier, an independent research council from Switzerland accused the Chinese authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO) of not acting quickly and decisively enough to prevent a coronavirus pandemic.
On January 11, a group of WHO experts released a version of the emergence of coronavirus outside of Wuhan, China. Chinese authorities and scientists have repeatedly questioned the version of the origin of the virus in Wuhan, although it was first detected there. In particular, scientists pointed to evidence of the emergence of coronavirus in Italy a few months before the first case in China.
