A group of 38 Republican congressmen sent a letter to US President Joe Biden asking him to take a test to detect cognitive impairment. It is reported by Fox News.

“We believe that, regardless of gender, age or political party affiliation, all presidents should follow the example of former President Trump to document and demonstrate healthy mental capacity,” members of the US Congress wrote in the letter.

It is specified that the Republicans were concerned about the recent incident when Biden insulted a journalist during a press conference. One of those who called on the President of the United States to undergo a cognitive test was former White House physician Ronnie Jackson.

Biden previously called a Fox News reporter a dumb son of a bitch on live television. After an opening speech by the head of state and members of his administration, the press was asked to leave the hall, but the reporters began to shout out their questions. To this, Biden noted that he did not like to answer them, since journalists never cover the essence of the meeting.

This is not the first time Biden has been asked to test his intelligence. On June 18, 2021, Ronnie Jackson, a member of the US House of Representatives from Texas, already sent a letter to Biden demanding to prove that he was “mentally ready” to lead the country. Trump's former doctor's letter, signed by 13 other House Republicans, speaks of the president's “mental decline and forgetfulness.”
