The United States plans to tap foreign partners to meet demand.

American industry is unable to produce enough ammunition due to high demand following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Politico reports this.

The United States has prepared the first ever National Defense Industrial Strategy, which will be published by the Pentagon in the near future. The strategy's primary focus will be a comprehensive review of what the U.S. Department of Defense needs to increase the efficiency and speed of production of military weapons.

The documents indicate that supply chains have been exposed during the coronavirus pandemic. Also, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the Hamas attack on Israel showed “a very different set of industrial requirements and associated risks” as the US rushes to produce weapons to support Ukraine and Israel.

“It has become clear that insufficient production and supply capacity is now a deeply rooted problem at all levels of manufacturing supply chains,” the report said.

Additionally, the report states that to address the challenges, the Pentagon will develop innovative and more resilient supply chains, as well as invest in small businesses.

The United States also plans to engage foreign partners to meet market demand.

“We must attract participants of all types: large and small, domestic and foreign, as well as those who have not previously been associated with the Ministry of Defense or Defense Production,” the document says.

Let us remind you that it was previously reported that the head of the British Foreign Office, David Cameron , is going on a visit to the United States, where he will convince legislators to increase aid to Ukraine .

In addition, we previously reported that Speaker of the House of Representatives Johnson has become one of Ukraine's most ardent supporters .
