The US federal authorities announced their readiness to transfer power to the elected President Joseph Biden, representing the Democratic Party of the Congress. Reported by CNN.
According to the TV channel, the administration of the current head of state, Donald Trump, notified the Biden administration of its readiness to transfer powers. The corresponding statement was made in a letter by the head of the General Services Administration (GSA) Emily Murphy.
It is noted that this step was the first on the path of recognition by the Trump team of their own defeat in the elections. As Murphy emphasized, she was not pressured, and she made the decision on her own.
Earlier it was reported that the head of the GSA postponed the decision to transfer power, which would allow Biden and his team to gain access to interaction with departments and funding.
On November 7, Democrat Joe Biden, who received 290 electoral votes against the required 270 and thus secured his victory, declared himself elected President of the United States. In turn, Trump said he hopes to regain his leading position in a number of states through the courts. He believes that Biden hastened to call himself the new leader of the country, since the elections are not over yet.
