The US Army plans to arm itself with the Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) family of unmanned combat vehicles, Breaking Defense writes.
According to the publication, the corresponding lineup should include robots from a light reconnaissance vehicle armed with a single anti-tank missile to a 30-ton unmanned tank “as strong as the 70-ton M1 Abrams.” 10-ton vehicles, which occupy an intermediate position between the two above, should receive a machine gun, rocket armament and a 30-mm cannon.
Popular Mechanics writes that heavy RCV vehicles will be capable of “killing” Russian and Chinese tanks, in particular the T-14 Armata and Type 99. “The vehicles will perform some of the most dangerous tasks of soldiers,” the newspaper notes.
In July, the German concern Rheinmetall posted a video on Twitter with the likely British Challenger 2 battle tank, which received new armor and a gun. The Defense Express agency, referring to the developers, called the weapon shown by Germany the “killer” of the Russian T-14 Armata tank.
In February, the American company Bell released an ad on Twitter in which the 360 Invictus helicopter “kills” the promising Russian T-14 and T-15 combat vehicles of the Armata platform.
