US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said in an interview with Kommersant that Washington is ready to support Ukraine in any decision, even if it agrees to a neutral status.
“We will support the decisions that Ukraine will make for itself. From the very beginning of this crisis, we said that we would not do anything with Ukraine without Ukraine. We will not do anything with Europe without Europe. And with NATO without NATO. So the choice is up to the people of Ukraine. We support the decisions they made,” she said.
Earlier, political strategist Marat Bashirov said that the situation in Ukraine would calm down only with complete demilitarization, as well as with the consolidation of the country's neutral status in the Constitution. He also believes that a possible negotiation process with Russia can be completed not by the incumbent President Vladimir Zelensky, but by the new head of state.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready to send a delegation to Minsk to negotiate with Ukraine. He specified that the delegation will include representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the presidential administration.
