The United States will place the largest number of fifth-generation aircraft in the world in Alaska. This was stated by Republican Senator from the state Dan Sullivan, speaking at a video seminar organized by the Woodrow Wilson Research Center in Washington. His words are quoted by TASS.

After the transfer of additional F-35 fighters, the state will have more than a hundred fifth-generation aircraft.

“We are now (…) building up our F-35 capabilities. Considering that (…) F-22s are deployed at Elmendorf-Richardson, and F-35s will be deployed at Eilson, we will have more than 100 fifth-generation fighters, more than a hundred, ”the senator said. According to him, no other place on the planet has so many similar fighters.

By December 2021, the Pentagon plans to deploy two squadrons of F-35 aircraft in the state – a total of 54 units. Currently, one of the bases hosts two F-22 squadrons.

Earlier in September, the United States simulated a war with Russia. They simulated the operation of the “revolutionary combat control system” and showed Washington's response to the attack on Moscow.
