It is noted that the people of Belarus, like the people of Ukraine, are striving for a future based on the preservation of the sovereignty of their country, democratic principles and rule of law.

“But the exclusive focus of the Lukashenka regime on holding power has undermined Belarusian sovereignty and placed Belarusian territory, airspace and infrastructure at the service of Russia’s military needs. The complicity of the Lukashenka regime in Russia’s war against Ukraine and its support is contrary to the will of the Belarusian people,” the press service stressed. .

The US embassy says the sanctions continue to reduce Putin's combat effectiveness. Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces are successfully defending their state, and the Ukrainian people are more united than ever.

The embassy notes that after the rigged presidential elections on August 9, 2020, “the Belarusian people have demonstrated exceptional resilience in supporting the democratic movement at the cost of great personal sacrifices.” Since February 24, 2022, the Belarusian democratic forces “made it clear that the Belarusian people are against Russia's invasion of Ukraine, against supporting the Lukashenka regime in this war and against attempts to offend the sovereignty and independence of both countries.”
