The United States will check the size, structure and capabilities of its armed forces due to the “challenges” in the face of Russia and China. This is stated in the “Interim Strategic Manuals on National Security” published on the White House website.
“In the face of strategic challenges from an increasingly confidently operating China and a destabilizing Russia, we will assess the required structure, capabilities and determine the size of our forces (…). Both Beijing and Moscow have invested significant efforts to test the strengths of the United States and prevent us from protecting our interests and our allies around the world. We will maintain combat readiness and ensure that the American military remains the most trained and well-equipped in the world, ”the text says.
The document also states that Washington is ready to use force if necessary to protect important national interests. However, at the same time, its use should be an extreme measure – diplomacy comes to the fore.
In the same statement, the United States named Russia and China as the main threats to the country.
