The US administration will prepare a response, together with allies, if Russia is involved in cyber attacks against Ukrainian government sites. Jake Sullivan, national security adviser to the President of the United States, warned about this in an interview with CBS.

However, he stressed that now the US authorities do not associate the attacks with anyone.

“We need to figure it out (…) I won't be surprised if it ends up being linked to Russia. Let's first find out, and then determine what to do in the future. If it turns out that Russia has carried out cyber attacks against Ukraine, if this continues in the coming period, then we will work with allies on a suitable response,” he said.

Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Ukraine's accusations about Russia's involvement in cyber attacks on government websites are unsubstantiated.

A large-scale hacker attack on Ukrainian government websites occurred on the night of January 13-14. The pages of the Cabinet of Ministers, the ministries of foreign affairs, education, sports, energy, agricultural policy, as well as the state emergency services were unavailable. On some of them, a message from hackers appeared in three languages and badges with the coat of arms of Ukraine, the flag and a pig crossed out. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) suspected Russian intelligence services of involvement.
