The Netherlands received a request from the United States to extradite Russian citizen Denis Dubnikov, who was detained on suspicion of involvement in cybercrimes. This is reported by RT with reference to the press secretary of the Prosecutor's Office of North Holland Ilse de Heir.
According to the newspaper, after receiving the request, the prosecutor's office sent a petition to the court to set a date for the hearing in the case of the Russian. At the moment, there is no information on when the hearing will take place.
On November 13, it became known that Dubnikov was detained in Amsterdam at the request of Washington due to alleged links with cybercriminals. In early November, he was denied entry to Mexico, from where he was sent to Amsterdam, where he was detained. The Russian's lawyer called the incident a seizure. If convicted, Dubnikov could face up to 20 years in prison in the United States.
