US Ambassador to the UN Thomas-Greenfield expressed hope for Lavrov's visit to Geneva

US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that Washington hopes that the Russian Foreign Minister will come to Geneva to meet with Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. Her words are reported by RIA Novosti.
Thomas-Greenfil noted that Moscow has not yet reacted to the invitation to sit down at the negotiating table. “We hope that he (Sergey Lavrov — Lenta.ru’s note) will accept the invitation and choose diplomacy instead of confrontation,” she concluded.
Earlier it was reported that Blinken offered Lavrov to hold a new meeting in Europe next week. He believes that this will be the basis for a summit of leaders of key world powers to de-escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
