Washington will continue to provide Ukraine with assistance “to defend against Russia,” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken promised in a conversation with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, TASS writes.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the slow assistance that Europe provides to his country. He called for tougher measures against Russia, including cutting off the SWIFT system and recalling ambassadors from Moscow.

Russia launched a military operation to protect the Donbass after the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR) turned to Moscow for help. The representative of the People's Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, spoke about the worsening situation in the Donbass, called what was happening a genocide and turned to Russia for help.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of the military operation.
