The US authorities have prepared for the start of vaccination of the population against coronavirus. This is reported by Fox News with reference to the head of the White House vaccination program, Gus Pernu.

According to him, the authorities will begin to implement the plan for the distribution of the drug from the companies Pfizer and BioNTech as early as Monday, when it arrives at 145 vaccination centers. Another 425 medical institutions will receive the drug on Tuesday, 66 on Wednesday. At the moment, only these facilities have equipment for storing vaccines at low temperatures. A total of 2.9 million doses of the drug are planned to be distributed across the states.

Earlier, The New York Times reported that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) committee of the US Department of Health and Human Services has licensed Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. It is noted that the first drug should be received by doctors and the elderly, and the delivery of the vaccine will begin within 24 hours after obtaining a license to use it.

There are currently several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. On December 5, Moscow started vaccination against coronavirus with Sputnik V. Pfizer / BioNTech has registered a COVID-19 vaccine in the United States, and another Moderna vaccine is on the way.
