US national security adviser Jake Sullivan predicted that China would be condemned by the world community if the country's authorities do not respond to Russia's “invasion” of Ukraine, TASS writes.
Sullivan urged the PRC to make a decision about the support of the Russian Federation. “If he gives the green light to an unjustified invasion of Ukraine, then China will eventually face the consequences,” he said. The presidential adviser also added that the country would not be able to compensate Russia's economic losses after the imposition of sanctions in the event of an attack.
Earlier, political scientist Sergei Mikheev said that the United States, from the position of the main world power, continues to use its position, and, realizing that neither Russia nor China threaten them, they are making attempts to “dismember” them. The expert noted that, unlike Washington, Moscow and Beijing are not trying to achieve a change in the political system in the United States, or their collapse.
On February 4, on the eve of the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing, a meeting was held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. Putin, during negotiations with the Chinese leader, announced the unprecedented nature of relations between the Russian Federation and China. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the meeting warm, partner and allied.
