Turkey must agree on Sweden's entry into NATO.
The United States said it would not interfere with Turkey's purchase of F- fighters 16, but at the same time this issue is related to unblocking Sweden’s entry into NATO.
This was stated by US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller, reports Ukrinform.
“We have made it clear that we support the sale of the F-16 to Turkey, Secretary of State Blinken made this clear again during a telephone conversation (with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan – ed.),” Miller noted.
At the same time, he said that in Congress some legislators associate this with Sweden's entry into NATO.
Miller noted that in this context, “We need to see this intro as soon as possible.”
We recall that it was previously reported that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proposed that parliament consider Sweden's application for NATO membership.
In addition, we previously reported that the Hungarian Parliament rejected the proposal to hold a vote on the ratification of Sweden's application to join NATO.
