Matthew Miller was asked to comment on the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron regarding the participation of European ground forces in the war in Ukraine.

USA will not send their troops to participate in a full-scale war in Ukraine started by the Russian Federation.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller stated this in Washington on Tuesday, Ukrinform’s own correspondent reports.

Miller answered a question about the statement of the head of France Emmanuel Macron, who did not rule out the participation of ground troops of European countries in the war in Ukraine.

“President Biden clearly emphasized, two years before Russia's (full-scale – ed.) invasion of Ukraine, that he would not send American soldiers to fight in Ukraine,” the State Department said.

Miller also denied the prospects of attracting American troops for training of Ukrainian Armed Forces on the territory of Ukraine, emphasizing that the training takes place on the territory of third countries.

Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron, after an international meeting in support of Ukraine in Paris, said that in the future France does not rule out sending troops to Ukraine.

Later, French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournet explained Macron's statement by saying that Western troops, in the event of a theoretical dispatch to Ukraine, which Emmanuel Macron had previously proposed, would not participate in hostilities.
