The number of tankers carrying natural gas from the United States to Europe rose by a third over the weekend, December 25 and 26, Bloomberg reported.

20 American tankers are heading towards Europe, the authors of the article noted. As of December 24, the number of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) tankers destined for European consumers was 15. Agency sources said there are 14 more vessels that have sailed towards Europe, but are “awaiting final decisions.”

Analysts believe that the price of gas in Europe will not decrease in the coming months; moreover, the current quotes promise the region a record-high price for gas even in the summer of 2022. On December 21, the exchange value of gas in Europe increased to $ 2,150 per thousand cubic meters and set a new record.

The growth in the cost of natural gas in Europe occurred against the backdrop of the termination of supplies by Gazprom through the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. Fuel was passed through it in the reverse direction towards Poland.

After December 21, the market has stabilized a little: the gas price is decreasing. They see the reason for this, including in anticipation of additional LNG shipments.
