The US Treasury has imposed sanctions against four Ukrainian citizens allegedly linked to Russia and involved in organizing certain “actions that cause harm abroad.” This is reported by Reuters.
The agency, citing a source, adds that the measures imposed are only part of the sanctions that Western countries may impose against Russia. If it starts military expansion in Ukraine, the list of anti-Russian measures will increase, the administration of US President Joe Biden threatened.
The sanctions list includes former deputy head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Volodymyr Sivkovych, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform — For Life (OPZH) Taras Kozak and Oleg Voloshin, as well as ex-deputy Vladimir Oleinik. Official Washington believes that these people work for the FSB.
In response to a question about whether Russia is allowed to disconnect from the SWIFT payment system in the United States, the White House representative replied: the White House is considering every option that could be a response to Moscow’s actions. “We are not waiting for it to be possible to resist Russia through sanctions, we are already doing this,” the source stressed.
