The United States, as promised, introduced new sanctions against Russia. Some of them affected six IT companies. The companies were accused of cyberattacks and links with Russian special services.
The White House said in a statement that “the Biden administration is taking action … against Russia for the actions of its government and intelligence services against US sovereignty and interests.”
In particular, six Russian technology companies were affected. The United States announced that they are supporting the cyber program of the Russian special services. The sanctions list includes the Military Innovative Technopolis ERA, JSC Pasit, Research Institute of Specialized Computing Devices and Security Automation, Neobit LLC, Advanced System Technologies JSC, Positive Technologies.
In addition, the United States has imposed sanctions on 32 individuals and entities that allegedly “carried out attempts by the Russian government to influence the 2020 US presidential election.”
