The US defense budget for the coming fiscal year has been submitted without sanctions against Russia's Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline. RIA Novosti writes about this, the corresponding document is also published on the Congress website.
Judging by the document, the American authorities did not impose restrictions either against the gas pipeline, or against the state debt of Russia, or against Russian individuals suspected of violating human rights.
Earlier, congressmen introduced all these points into the agreed draft defense budget, but now they are excluded. Idaho Republican Senator James Risch, in particular, insisted that the American authorities should introduce anti-Russian measures to help Ukraine. According to him, “Nord Stream-2” is intended to replace the gas transportation system in Kiev.
