Partners will coordinate their actions to maintain regional security.
The United States of America deployed to the 57th Air Force Base Romanian forces named after Mihai Kogelniceanu two intercontinental strategic bombers B-52 Stratofortress.
US Air Forces in Europe reported this.
These American aircraft will operate as part of the 20th Expeditionary Bomber Squadron of the US Air Force, and will also begin to interact with NATO forces.
“The United States is committed to working with our NATO allies and partners on the eastern flank to ensure we have the teaming skills and coordination capabilities needed to support regional safety, security and stability,” the US Air Force general said James Hecker.
The Norwegian newspaper The Barents Observer reported that before flying to Romania, these strategic bombers conducted a training flight over the border of Finland and Russia for the first time.
Recall that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg made a statement about Poland shooting down missiles over Ukraine. According to him, the North Atlantic Alliance is ready to further strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. However, NATO will not be directly involved in the war.
