The United States has transferred new equipment to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to Poland. Radars, air defense systems (air defense) and a defense system against drones were noticed at the airport in the city of Zamość, Defense Express reports.
The US military deployed the M1097 Avenger anti-aircraft missile system (SAM), AN / MPQ-64 Sentinel radar and the new M-LIDS (Mobile Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Integrated Defense System) system at the airport.
The M-LIDS complex is designed to protect ground units from attacks by small drones. The M-LIDS combat vehicle received a module with an XM914 30 mm automatic cannon, a machine gun and Coyote Block 2 missiles. M-LIDS is based on the chassis of the Oshkosh M-ATV armored car.
Earlier it became known about the tests of the Marker robotic complex. The car was used as a means of air defense. The robot hit the UAV with a machine gun.
In January, scientists at the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense proposed destroying clusters of drones with shrapnel.
