Russia and China are paying more and more attention to the nuclear triad, making more and more efforts to modernize the latter, and therefore it cannot be argued that nuclear weapons (against the background of the development of hypersonic and space systems) have lost their relevance, Breaking Defense reports the statement of the head of the Global Strike Command Military – Air Force (Air Force) of the United States General Timothy Ray.
According to him, the modernization of the American nuclear triad is important not only for the United States, therefore, the change in the head of the White House cannot be allowed to affect this process. The general noted that the United States' allies and partners are supporting flights over their territories by US Air Force bombers. “I know for a fact that this is driving our Russian competitors crazy,” Ray said.
