Washington will continue to provide defensive military assistance to Kiev. This was stated by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried, RIA Novosti reports.
The spokesman for the State Department noted that the last delivery of weapons in the framework of military assistance to Ukraine from the United States was last week. “We will continue to ship equipment and support to Ukraine in the coming weeks and months through various mechanisms,” she said. According to the politician, the American side is constantly evaluating the possibilities for additional military assistance.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that a compromise between Russia and NATO on the right of Ukraine to “choose its own path” and claim to join the alliance is impossible. According to him, all NATO member states continue to adhere to a single position on this issue. The Secretary General also proposed to hold a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council in early 2022.
