White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed that the US could provide Ukraine with loan guarantees. Her words are reported by RIA Novosti.
“I can confirm that we are considering such an opportunity as part of additional macroeconomic support,” she said.
Earlier, CNN, citing a high-ranking Ukrainian official, reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during a telephone conversation, asked his American colleague Joe Biden for military and financial support for the country. In addition, the Ukrainian leader announced the need for a significant financial package for Ukraine, which would demonstrate Western support to Russia.
