In the United States, the record for the incidence of a new type of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has been broken: over the last 24 hours, more than 230 thousand new cases of infection have been identified, according to the Johns Hopkins Institute project.
In total, there are 15.8 million infections in the country, of which about 6.1 million have recovered. More than 295,000 patients have died due to COVID-19-related causes.
The United States leads among all countries in the world in the number of recorded cases. Worldwide, there are more than 71.1 million of them, deaths – almost 1.6 million.
In Russia, according to official data, over 28 thousand new cases of the disease have been recorded over the past 24 hours. Most of them are in Moscow.
On December 10, it was reported that the United States set a record for deaths from the coronavirus: the country for the first time recorded more than three thousand deaths from the virus in one day.
