Russia can kill tens of millions of Americans in a short time. Political scientist Greg R. Lawson told The National Interest about it.

The political scientist expressed the opinion that America should confront Russia only because of what its own existence depends on, and the fate of Ukraine is not. He called it a huge strategic mistake to keep the question of Ukraine's membership in NATO for so many years, because Russia, since the days of Kievan Rus, considers Ukraine to be critically important for its self-perception.
“Imagine that Russia or China would do this with the United States – create a military alliance with Mexico and deploy a large amount of their military equipment there,” said Lawson.
