What the military expects from the training of Ukrainian pilots in the United States/Collage of Channel 24
Ukrainian pilots must be trained on American aircraft. The US government allocated $100 million for this.

The amount is included in the draft United States Defense Budget for 2023, where a total of $1 billion spending is calculated for Ukraine. Yuriy Ignat, representative of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about what our military expects from the American initiative to train Ukrainian pilots at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine on July 26, channel 24 informs.
Waiting for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Yury Ignat noted that journalists constantly ask how many Ukrainian pilots are trained and where. However, while the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has no information that this is happening at all.
There was a decision by the American government, or rather, a bill passed to allocate $ 100 million for the training of military pilots in 2023. It is likely that these funds will be attracted earlier, and this (pilot training – ed. 24 channel) will happen earlier. But this is already a serious step,” Ignat noted.
The Air Force representative explained that if the US government allocates funds for the training of Ukrainian pilots on American aircraft, this indicates the seriousness of the United States, and Ukraine still will receive aviation equipment.
At the same time, Ignat noted that it is too early to talk about a specific type of aircraft. Probably, training will take place on F15, F16 fighters, and maybe others.
Therefore, now information about the type of aircraft and their transferred quantity is not made public. Obviously, the negotiations of the top military leadership are continuing – this is the government, the president and the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense. It is obvious that constant negotiations are going on, they do not stop. We don’t have such a decision yet, but we really hope that it will be adopted positively,” the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine summed up.
