The UN named countries completely open to tourism

by alex

The coronavirus pandemic has led not only to restrictions within countries, but also to the complete or partial closure of borders.

According to the report of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), which has the status of a specialized agency of the UN system, today only 5 countries can be visited without any problems.

Here are the states that are ready to accept tourists without looking at tests and vaccination certificates: Albania, Tanzania, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic and North Macedonia.

Some other countries require arriving travelers to documentary evidence of a negative coronavirus test, as well as to undergo mandatory quarantine.

As of February, 73 countries have closed their borders completely, and 69 – partially.

It follows from the UNWTO report that the spread of new strains of coronavirus in a number of countries has led to tougher travel restrictions.

The head of the organization, Zurab Pololikashvili , said that restarting tourism, which is almost the main source of income for many states, is possible only taking into account the epidemiological situation:

– The imposition of restrictions should be based on the latest data and analysis and constantly reviewed to ensure a safe and responsible restart of the sector on which millions of businesses and workers depend.

Earlier, the speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko recommended that Russians plan a vacation in 2021 within the country, since external tourism will certainly be difficult.
