This is another step towards restoring respect for the UN Charter and international law.

Initiated by Ukraine a resolution on the safety and protection of nuclear facilities, in particular the Zaporozhye NPP, was adopted by the UN General Assembly.

About this on Twitter (X) reported President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky.

He noted that this is another step towards renewed respect for the UN Charter and international law.

As Zelensky noted, the document repeats the “need for demilitarization and de-occupation” of the Zaporizhia NPP in light of Russia’s failure to comply with the resolutions of the IAEA governing bodies.

“This vote is based on the discussions and decisions made at the first Peace Summit, where the key issue was the first paragraph of the Peace Formula, “Radiation and Nuclear Safety,” the president wrote.

Zelensky also thanked all partners for their assistance “in restoring security in all territories destroyed by Russian aggression.”

“By working together, we can protect the fundamental norms of international law and common values,” Zelensky added.

Recall that it was previously reported that one of the radiation monitoring stations near Zaporizhzhya NPP was destroyed.

In addition, we previously reported that Russia is using the occupied Zaporizhia NPP as a springboard for an offensive.
