The UN Security Council is ready for any options for the development of the situation around Ukraine and is closely following what is happening. This was stated during a press conference by Norway's Permanent Representative to the UN Mona Juul, whose country will serve as chairman of the UN Security Council in January, TASS reports.
Answering the question of what the UN Security Council will do in the event of an aggravation of the situation around Ukraine, Juul stressed that it is too early to talk about concrete steps in this case.
On January 4, NATO confirmed the holding of talks with Russia, which will take place on January 12. The talks will take place within the Russia-NATO Council chaired by Secretary General Stoltenberg. In addition, on December 31, 2021, NATO announced its readiness for a constructive dialogue with Russia on the Ukrainian issue.
