The network has information that the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has published a fresh report. It talks about the current state of the climate on our planet.
So far, only the first volume has been published, but already in it it is reported that a record high temperature has been recorded on Earth over the past 125 thousand years. Ultimately, this can lead to persistent droughts and an increase in the number of forest fires around the planet.
The experts also noted that in order to stabilize the situation, humanity needs to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Moreover, this should be done to the maximum and as quickly as possible. Such a “rush” is connected with the fact that this gas remains in the Earth's atmosphere for a long time.
And even if tomorrow we stop burning fuel, stopping the entire world industry, the temperature will continue to rise smoothly for another 20-30 years.
