The UK will send 850 troops, tanks and artillery pieces to Estonia

London may send an additional contingent of military personnel to Estonia in February, said the British ambassador to the republic Ross Allen, writes TASS with reference to the broadcast of the ETV+ TV channel.
According to the diplomat, according to the plan, hundreds of soldiers should arrive in the country this month. Allen added that the British regiment, located in Germany, is preparing for the transfer. “This is about 850 military personnel, tanks, artillery pieces and so on, that is, about the same combat group that has already been deployed in Estonia,” he stressed.
The Ambassador added that the duration of the additional contingent’s stay in Estonia will depend on the situation. According to the diplomat, in two or three months, the British and Estonian sides will assess the circumstances, security in the region and make a decision.
Earlier, the UK announced plans to double the transfer of troops and equipment to Estonia to support NATO. In particular, the government of the country is going to double the number of troops and equipment that will be sent to Estonia. Thus, Prime Minister Boris Johnson wants to support NATO.
