Reuters: Macron to discuss “Normandy format” on Ukraine and Europe’s security with Putin

French President Emmanuel Macron will discuss the situation in Ukraine and the future of Europe at a meeting in Moscow with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Reuters reports, citing its own source.
An informant at the Elysee Palace revealed the topics of future talks between Putin and Macron. It is assumed that the French president will “try to benefit from the progress” that was achieved as a result of negotiations in the “Normandy format” on Ukraine.
In addition, Macron plans to discuss with Putin the future of Europe’s security. Before the meeting with his Russian counterpart, the French leader intends to hold talks with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Earlier, the Kremlin told about the agenda of the meeting between Putin and Macron. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the main topic of the talks will be security guarantees in Europe.
Macron will come to Moscow on a visit on Monday, February 7. On February 8, the French president will travel to Kiev, where he will discuss the situation in the country with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.
