The tomb of four aristocrats over 2 thousand years old was discovered in China
In China, archaeologists have discovered the tomb of four aristocrats, which dates back to the era of the Warring States (475-221 BC).
According to the Xinhua news agency, the burial was found in Shayang County, Hubei Province. More than 2.5 thousand years ago, there was one of the most developed ancient Chinese states – the kingdom of Chu.
In two underground rooms discovered during excavations, archaeologists have found many artifacts: jewelry, musical instruments and dishes.
Scientists believe that the remains of a noble nobleman and his wife were buried in these halls, and the objects found were placed in the grave according to the ancient Chinese tradition, according to which, after death, a person may need all things in his life to travel to the other world.
In addition to household items, archaeologists found underground bones of 18 horses and the remains of eight large two-wheeled carts.
Earlier, Russian archaeologists found in the vicinity of Sevastopol a unique necropolis from the times of the Roman Empire with tombstones and steles of the “late” Scythians. The find was made during the study of the Kil-Dere 1 earthen burial ground on the slopes of a high hill in the Inkerman Valley. It is noted that the burial ground was robbed for a long time and systematically. Of the 232 investigated burials, only 14 were intact.
