According to the military man, Moldova could turn to Ukraine for help in solving the problem with the separatist enclave.
Major of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Deputy commander of the 3rd assault brigade, ex-commander of the Azov regiment Maxim Zhorin calls the possibility of the official “annexation” of unrecognized Transnistria to Russia quite real.
He wrote about this in Telegram.
“According to the logic of the Russian Federation, constant escalation is the best way to keep your herd in good shape and prepare for a big war against NATO,” argues Zhorin.
He noted that Russian troops have been stationed in Transnistria for a long time – therefore this territory can de facto be called controlled by the Russian Federation.
“It is difficult to understand why the West is still allowing this formation to exist. Because of its weakness, there will now be an even bigger problem. And Moldova could, by the way, turn to us for help,” the military man concluded .
It was previously reported that at the end of February the unrecognized Transnistria may ask Putin to “join” the Russian Federation. On February 28, Transnistria plans to hold a congress of deputies of all levels for the first time in 18 years, and it is there that they can appeal to the Russian dictator about annexing the region.
At the same time, according to military expert Vadim Denisenko, the likelihood of a sudden announcement of the annexation of Transnistria to Russia is close to zero.
