The Strategic Rocket Forces (Strategic Missile Forces) have named the timing of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missiles on alert. The commander of the Strategic Missile Forces, Colonel-General Sergei Karakaev, spoke about this in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
According to him, at present, industrial enterprises continue to set readiness for state flight tests of the missile complex. The Colonel-General stressed that work is already underway in the Uzhur missile formation to prepare the head missile regiment for rearmament. Karakayev also added that in 2022 the Sarmat missile system will be put on alert.
Earlier, the Chinese portal Sina considered the new Russian military complexes “Sarmat”, “Avangard” and “Yars” extremely dangerous. The publication considered that the rearmament of Russia's missile forces on these models puts the United States in a desperate situation. The portal claims that despite the United States' claims of the most advanced defense system in the world, it will not be able to intercept the high-speed Vanguard, making the missile “a more intimidating weapon than a nuclear bomb.”
