The ten most-read business stories this year

by alex

The Corona crisis has also dominated everything in the economy. This is reflected in the most-clicked stories.

Corona and the various economic and tourist effects of the pandemic are the ones that (not only, but to a large extent) interested the readers of the KURIER online presence this year.

The top ten most-read articles:

10th place: Bose closes all stores in Europe

Even before the corona pandemic started in Europe, the audio and headphone specialist Bose shifted its business primarily to online trading. Bose announced that it will close 119 stores in Europe, North America, Japan and Australia.

9th place: Croatia: faster entry thanks to mobile phone app

In mid-May, Croatia was still working on the safe entry of tourists into the country. Among other things, a tourist app for locals was in preparation.

8th place: Croatia vacation – please wait

A KURIER editor's expedition to Croatia before the summer also made it into the top 10 most-clicked stories. Our editor was on site in May when it was still uncertain what the summer vacation would look like this year and the border with Croatia was still closed.

Rank 7: What about cell phones in trees in the USA

The fact that behind the bizarre images of the cell phones in trees there is a serious background – namely tough competition between Amazon suppliers – was also of interest this year.

6th place: Run to the hairdressing salons

For many readers, the corona-related closings of the hairdressing salon were a tease of their hair. 6th place for this post from April, i.e. Lockdown 1.

5th place: Sales bans: fear of unfair competition

Here, too, it was about the effects of the Corona crisis. This March article dealt with the fact that supermarket chains are allowed to sell garden plants and the like, even though nurseries and florists had to keep closed.

4th place: The richest Austrians

The super-rich – only nine billionaires, by the way – in Austria just barely made it onto the podium with this article.

3rd place: The ten richest families in the world

But the world's super-rich have fought for a podium! Third place in the most-clicked stories goes to the ten richest families around the world.

2nd place: Hotelier on travel warning for Croatia: “Last stupidity of the government”

The travel warning for Croatia from August and the almost fleeing departure of tourists only narrowly escaped victory.

1st place: Germany plans to close beaches

This year, readers were most interested in the fact that the beaches of the popular North and Baltic Seas were partially closed in Germany in summer.
